Hyundai Deferred Payment For Furloughed Employees
Hyundai Motor America has announced the latest addition to its Assurance program with the launch of a new payment deferral program aimed at helping federal employees furloughed during the government shutdown.

 Hyundai Motor says it will postpone payments due from US federal employees affected by the partial government shutdown. They added affected employees who at this time own their vehicles would be given a payment relief "for as long as they are out of work." Supporting customers, Hyundai had offered a similar scheme, the Hyundai Assurance program, during the peak of the global financial crisis four years ago to aid consumers who had lost their jobs. Under this latest offer, Hyundai will expand all auto loan and lease payments during the shutdown for current Hyundai owners who are put on unpaid leave. The program is available for all customers who have financed their vehicle or lease through Hyundai Finance America. Hyundai says that any furloughed federal workers facing a payment on their Hyundai can wait until they're back to work. And any furloughed government worker who buys or leases a new Hyundai this month won't have to deal with any payments until January. Obviously, this will only be an option if you've financed your vehicle through Hyundai Finance America. Hyundai is only deferring the payments, not canceling them, so once the government reopens for business, the workers will need to make the payments they’ve missed.

Hyundai gained a lot of good publicity four years ago when it presented US customers who lost their jobs the chance to return their new cars for a refund. The automaker says the program for government workers helps them at a time they need it most. Current owners in the Hyundai family will be provided relief from payments, for as long as they are out of work. The program is available to any government employee who has financed his or her vehicle through Hyundai Finance America.
